What Is The Difference Between A Work at Home Business And A Work at Home Job?

Posted in Work at Home at 12:00 pm by Work at Home Team

As a home business entrepreneur who is primarily involved with a program wherein I sponsor Affiliates in a downline, I often find that I am the recipient of emails from new enrollees who are clearly confused on several fronts. Commonly received initial emails consist of questions such as “When do I start my assignment?” and “What is my position in your company?”

Somehow, these individuals are under the mistaken notion that by registering for a home business program, they have been hired by a company and are embarking on some sort of non-existent home based career.

It is apparent that a fairly generalized confusion exists among people desiring to work at home between a work at home job and a work at home business. Further, it seems apparent that individuals are not thoroughly researching an entity’s background, specifications, and compensation PRIOR to enrolling.

Therefore, it is the goal of this article to define a home based job, a home based business, and to outline the differences between the two so that those desiring to work at home may make informed choices prior to clicking on enrollment forms online.

Despite the national trend of allowing more and more people to tele-commute rather than spending 40 hours per week at a desk on site at a given company, demand for home based or tele-commuting jobs staggeringly outstrips the supply and landing a home based job with a consistent paycheck as an employee is in reality quite hard to land. Further, tele-commuting or home based jobs rarely allow for working solely at home 100% of the time.

Generally, some “on site” time away from home will nearly universally be required. The best way to search for tele-commuting jobs is to directly inquire about tele-commuting opportunities in ones geographic locale. A formal employment application process, interview, and resume will certainly be required to procure a tele-commuting job.

Midway between a tele-commuting position as described above and home business entrepreneurship is freelancing. If one has a highly developed and marketable skill such as typing (particularly specialized typing such as medical transcribing, or legal document preparation), bookkeeping, data entry skills, or other highly developed specific knowledge that is in demand, it is possible to match oneself up with companies needing ones skills.

One can generally compete with other Freelancers and bid “per piece” or “per project”. A company will generally select the most reasonably priced and highly skilled bidder and pay them per the pre-arranged terms at project completion.

A home based business is by definition ones self creation or in essence “giving birth” to sole ownership and development of ones own entity. Home business entrepreneurship involves designing and developing a new business from scratch where the home business entrepreneur is responsible for their own expenses and supervision and where pay is nearly universally 100 commission based.

If one does not have specific skills, education, or a product to sell, home business ownership is still possible and indeed can provide a lucrative income if approached in a strategic and well-researched manner. Well-established companies that are recognized by the Better Business Bureau exist. Programs to seek out would be those offering free sign-up, an array of quality products that are in demand, free training, and access to “live” mentors.

In summary, tele-commuting salaried jobs do exist but the competition is fierce for these positions. Freelancers with highly specific skills can often work from home by bidding and being paid for individual projects. Finally, home business ownership is open to all, regardless of skill level or educational background and no formal application process is required. Home business ownership offers unlimited potential return, yet requires research, strategy, and the willingness to carefully invest some money for promotion in order to develop a solid and ongoing return.

The Beauty Of Working At Home

Posted in Work at Home at 12:00 pm by Work at Home Team

Working at Home is growing at a phenomenal pace around
the world. The beauty of it is that your time is your
own and you can dig in anytime you want. Even Large
multinationals are now seeing the benefits of employing
people in the home workplace.

Because of the vast improvement
of communications in the last 10-15 years, the
home is now becoming its own office or company in
its own right. All of the machines and instruments that
were once only located in the work office can now be
located and used just as efficiently in the home office.
Powerful computers, fax machines and internet
connections can now be easily installed in the home.

Discipline and honesty are huge traits that have to
be addressed when working from home. Procrastinating your
work is not a problem as long as the work gets
completed. When working from home, the important matter is
not when the work is done, it is that the actual work is being done.

Many entrepreneurs that work from home will tell you
that if they have missed work by running some errands
during the day, they will complete the work later on that
evening or they will do extra the following day. Until
you reach a point in your life where you can pick and
choose when and where you work, discipline is the
foundation on which your work at home business will thrive.

If you have a full time job and are insecure about trying
a work at home job, I would first suggest doing it
part time. By doing it part time you will start to
understand if this life is for you or not.

There is definitely people (of which I am not)
that love the great out-doors
and want to be constantly out of the house 9-5 Monday
to Friday. No matter how good an opportunity came along,
these people still would not like to do it. On the
other hand I believe there is the majority crying out for
change. These are the people that would love to try
something new if it only would increase the quality of
their lives.

These people are the new leaders in internet
and network marketing. These people are the people that
provide the real determination to succeed in their
home based businesses. By reading this article, if you
think you are one of these people, then you are in the
right place. Give your home based business a try, you have
nothing to lose only a regret that you didn’t start it sooner!

It’s Not Brain Surgery, It’s Just An Online Work at Home Business

Posted in Work at Home at 12:00 pm by Work at Home Team

Back when I first started my online home business I didn’t have
a clue concerning how to go about it. I had never done any
Internet marketing, and didn’t know anything about websites or
search engines or any of that other online business stuff…in
short, I was a complete rookie. In retrospect, the two major
things that really helped me was that I refused to be intimidated
and I kept a realistic perspective (both in terms of initial
financial results and the time frame necessary to become
successful).

I know from my own years of experience that relatively few
business ventures are started on the Internet by people with
the experience, motivation, determination, backing, and support
that it takes to even have a reasonable chance of success.

Real online business people are those who work hard, who immerse
themselves deeply in marketing and advertising, and who put in
long hours in the beginning in order to see their Internet-based
businesses succeed.

Achieving success in an online business is not difficult to
comprehend. There is indeed a learning curve, but it’s not brain
surgery. The process of learning isn’t as much the issue as are
the personal traits of motivation and determination.

Develop your marketing plan and execute it. There’s no magic in
this online home based business stuff. We’re talking real world
here. It’s not nearly as romantic as winning the lottery, yet
many of the thousands of people I have helped to start up their
home businesses on the Internet clearly came in with what I have
come to refer to as the “magic/lottery” mentality. Many of those
folks went off to chase another rainbow after a few months, but
some of them also came to their senses and buckled down to
develop very successful home based businesses.

Run, don’t walk, away from all of those people that offer you
“shortcuts” or “success secrets” (probably in exchange for some
of your money). I mean, if they had it all figured out, why
would they sell this “magic answer” to you for a few bucks
instead of just keeping it private and then making tons of
money for themselves? (I’ll leave it to you to connect the dots)

A key point to always keep in mind is that…business is
business. Regardless of whether you are on the Internet or
operating a business in a shopping mall. The same
fundamental principles apply to both businesses.

1) You need to have a product, or products, to sell.

2) You need to advertise to get customers to buy your
products.

3) You need to provide support to your customers who buy
your products as a result of your advertising efforts.

4) You need to build a loyal customer following, so you can
maintain a profitable business over a period of time.

Many people fall into the trap of believing that because
they are doing business on the Internet, some of these steps
can either be skipped or they need to overemphasize one area
or another.

The bottom line regarding an online business is that you will
need to advertise and you will need to take care of your
customers.

Run your online home business just like a real company
because it is, in fact, a real business and you have a real
opportunity to either be successful or to fail. The primary
difference between an online business and a traditional
business is location (no traditional “storefront”). Nearly
everything else is essentially the same. You have products
and your objective is to sell those products to people who
want/need your products.

Remember, building a business takes time, determination,
and patience. Far too many people seem to think that the
traffic is just going to pour in once they have put up their
own website on the Internet. As anyone who has had a website
for a while knows…this simply is not true, but it is often
the reason people get frustrated and quit. The fact of the
matter is that you need to diligently promote/advertise your
website in order for your online home based business to
flourish and prosper.

One of the most important bits of advice that I can pass on to
you is that you must be patient. Most people start their online
home business with great enthusiasm and high expectations. Often,
after a few months, they become disappointed and frustrated
because they are not already making a large amount of money.

These impatient home business entrepreneurs then often start to
jump from one program to another every few months (never allowing
themselves enough time to succeed at any of them) and, finally,
throw up their hands in frustration and declare that they just
can’t make money online.

Stick with your business and don’t give up. Dogged persistence
(much like the tenacity of a pit bull) is an absolutely vital key
to your eventual success. Don’t give up when things become
frustrating and you are not achieving the immediate success you
expected. Give your online home based business sufficient time to
develop and you realize the success you are seeking.

There is nothing magical about running an online home based
business. It should be run the same as any traditional “bricks
and mortar” business and it will succeed or fail depending on
the time and effort you put into it.

There are many very ordinary people working at home and making a
very good living on the Internet, will you be the next one?

Integrity

Knowledge

Communication Skills

Long Term Commitment

Make no mistake working from home requires actual work. You are not paid by the hour so you need to work smart, efficiently, and be aware of things that work and realize what is not working. Those that are successful will tell you that they found a mentor to inspire and energize them, whether it was an audio tape series, books, seminars, work at home type forums it does not matter, find someone who is actually making money and building their business and ask them questions. Invest in yourself, read all that you can, find the tools of the trade and utilize them and be smart when putting money into your business. Use methods that are proven by other people doing the same kind of business that you want to build.

It takes time and effort on your part to learn whatever home business you choose to start. Be sure to take the time to learn all you can about your new business, how to market it, and be open to new ideas. Do your research! Visit forums! Read, read, and read some more! Invest in tools and training in the beginning and save yourself many headaches in the long run. Be organized; make a task list, and quarterly or monthly goals. Don’t let the overall picture distract or overwhelm you, break everything down into small task lists and just work away at each task and soon you will realize you are accomplishing your goals in the timeline you want.

Ask yourself the following:
Do you have a particular business in mind or have you researched what you might be interested in?

If you have chosen a business, does it get you excited; do you feel a passion for it?

Do you have as little as 5 to 10 hours a week to start building your business?

Can you invest time and a small monthly investment into your business?

The things that are most likely stopping you from Starting & Succeeding (Answers and things to think about):

Fear of what Family and Friends might say! (Don’t tell them till you are making a profit)

Fear of Failure or Success! (Ask yourself what and why are you afraid?)

Unrealistic expectations! (I’ll sell you the bridge to Nantucket real cheap)

Being Impatient! (It takes time to build ANY business)

Not having a passion for the business you have chosen! (If you don’t like your business you will not succeed)

Not promoting Business properly! (Website? Advertising your business in the right places? …..)

Not willing to take the time up front to learn the Business! (How can you assist your down line if you don’t know what you are doing?)

Not investing in yourself, your products, and your business! (How can you sell to others if you are not willing to invest?)

Not seeing the big picture, think globally! (Don’t just market your products, business, and website locally)

Imagine you life being in balance, meaning you are making time for your own business, your job while building your business, family, friends, hobbies, and last but not least fun. If you are all work and no play you will get burned out and not have fresh ideas. Know when to take a break, make yourself take a break, or ask a loved one to help you realize when to take a break.

Get started today building your business towards generating an income and saving possibly thousands in taxes every year, as well as many other benefits.

The only thing keeping you from achieving your goals in life and business is you!

The Road to Success - A.C.T.I.O.N.

Posted in Work at Home at 12:00 pm by Work at Home Team

Without question almost every home business owner has struggled with time management. Working from home has many perks, but along with the perks come distractions.

Those distractions if left unchecked can destroy your business. So, how do you find a balance between home life and home business life? In its simplest form, the answer can be boiled down to how you manage your time.

Realistically, it’s about doing the right things when the right things need doing.

Read that last sentence over again and really let it sink in. Do the right things when the right things need doing.

That leads us to the next obvious question. How am I going to know what the right thing to do is and when to do it?

The key to that answer can be found in the word ACTION.

A-AWARENESS

You have to be consciously aware of what needs to be done. Take the time to put a plan together for your business. A well prepared plan gives you the ability to see if you are on track or not. Not too many people would leave on a cross country road trip without a map and a destination in mind. Along with that, most people would have ideas on where they might stop along the way, and a holiday budget. Why would you run your business with no map, destination, ideas or a budget? Think about what your business will need, where you want your business to go, and what you need to do. Be AWARE of what needs doing.

C-COMMITMENT

Be committed to your business. Once again, the road trip holiday can provide us with some ideas. If you left on a road trip holiday with no plan, and weren’t committed to getting to a destination, would any of your friends be surprised if you didn’t successfully complete the trip? Of course not. Without a commitment to your business, you will fail. Make a COMMITMENT and see your plan through to completion.

T-TENACITY

Have tenacity to persist and see it through. Back to the road trip. If you get a flat tire, do you give up and go home? Not likely, you fix it and continue on. Don’t allow little things to stop you from the big things you have planned for your business. Focus on your goals and plans and be persistent. Have TENACITY and don’t give up.

I-INGENUITY

Use ingenuity to find the workable way. When an obstacle appears, pull out your road map (or plan), take a look at it and see if there are other routes available that will keep you on track to your destination. Seek advice from the locals (or other people in home businesses similar to yours). Your ability to use INGENUITY will directly affect your business’ success.

O-OBJECTIVITY

Use objectivity for an undistorted perspective. Take a break, a breather, step back, clear your head every now and again to maintain your objectiveness in making decisions for your business. Take a moment to survey the lay of the land on your road trip, it will make travel much easier. OBJECTIVITY gives you the ability to see things in your business clearly.

N-NAVIGATE

Navigate a manageable pathway. If the vehicle you’re taking on a road trip has marginal brakes, don’t plan a route that takes you through the highest mountains!! Know what your limits are and what you can do. Navigating a manageable pathway to your destination betters your chances for business success!

There you have the home business keys to taking purposeful ACTION.

I’ll leave you with one final thought…

Energy without ACTION is power without purpose!

Traffic Exchanges: Avoiding the Pitfalls and Ensuring Successful Campaigns

Posted in Work at Home at 12:00 pm by Work at Home Team

Most webmasters use traffic exchanges not only to get hits
to their websites, but also to make sales. Most people
who use these programs are not necessarily interested
in buying anything. However, there are ways to use their
visits to generate future purchases. By choosing your
traffic exchanges wisely, advertising a well-designed
webpage, and asking yourself a few questions as you evaluate
your exchanges’ performances, you can ensure a healthy
return on your free traffic.

Here’s a few tips on choosing a traffic exchange wisely:

1. Note and compare the ratio of clicks to hits received.

2. Make sure there are anti-cheat functions available. If
surfers “don’t need to be present to click”, they will be
tempted to use auto surfer programs, and obviously they
won’t bring quality traffic to your site.

3. Look for those exchanges that allow you to target your
site to visitors with a specific interest. Here are some
that fit the description:

Bullseye Traffic

Traffic Swarm

NoMoreHits

AllFreshClicks

Vinterchange

4. Most exchanges give you free credits for signing up.
Click anyways. It’s important to get a feel for a site,
also to notice whether the program will load the same site
several times over. This happens occasionally on several
sites, but take note if it is excessive. What is optimum is
an exchange that will deliver your page one time per user
per day. You can remedy this problem by setting up your
urls in a rotator that will deliver a different website each
time.

5. Notice the balance between the length of the timer and
the time it takes pages to load. As you surf you may like
sites that only require 10 seconds before you can surf
again, but this does not benefit pages that load slowly. So
observe not only from the surfer perspective but also from
the “surfee” point of view.

6. Once you have surfed an exchange for a length of time,
take note of how many credits you have earned. Log into
your account in 24 hours and see how many credits have been
used, or not. One exchange may have a lower click to visit
ratio but uses only half the credits in a day’s time.
Another may use the credits as fast as you can generate
them.

Now that you’ve decided on a few traffic exchanges, you need
to have a well-designed webpage to post. A well-designed
‘teaser’ or ’splash’ page will create interest in your
product without pushing visitors to purchase anything. It
should rely heavily on graphics that get attention and don’t
require the visitor to scroll down. There should be only a
few pieces of information that either capture the visitor’s
email address or make it irresistable to click to another
page, possibly your main website where you can either
capture the email address or make a sale.

Most traffic exchanges encourage you to build a downline,
either to earn a % of all the traffic they in turn generate,
earn a % of the money paid for Pro memberships, or both. By
using a couple techniques, you can build a downline quickly.

Let’s say you’ve signed up for 10 traffic exchanges.
Copy/paste your referral links to the 10 programs onto a
blank page. Do the same with your surfing links,
(sometimes known as startpage links), and make sure you
DON`T confuse the two.

You need to connect each traffic exchange to the next, in
essence creating a circle. When you sign up for program #1,
copy/paste the referral link of program #2 when asked what
url you intend to promote. Program #2 gets the referral url
of program #3, and so on, until you’ve completed the circle
by putting the referral link of program #1 into program #10.

Click away at all 10 of them vigorously, at least one hour
per day, for maybe a month. This should start building your
downlines in the various exchanges. If it doesn`t work at
first, keep trying until it does. The key here is to never
give up.

Once you have a good enough downline (and only you can
decide what ‘good enough’ is), and your downlines are
creating traffic for you, log back into the programs, change
the website link or add additional links to whichever online
income program or programs it is you REALLY want to promote.
At this point, you can upgrade your memberships in some
traffic exchanges. Your criteria will include those that
offer the best bonuses to Pro members, and those in which
you have the largest downline.

Once you achieve 500 pageviews per day thanks to your
downlines (which times ten exchanges equals 5000 pageviews a
day), you won’t need to click much yourself any more. With
a solid advertising campaign in place, you now can focus on
promoting those programs that will bring you residual and
leveraged income well into your retirement years.

We Do Eat Our Young: The Story of a Successful Work at Home Business

Posted in Work at Home at 12:00 pm by Work at Home Team

Whether it is in the world animals, recovering drug addicts, or business if the truth were told we do eat our young. As when I was young I would watch Wild Kingdom every Sunday night, sure enough there it was a big strong fast Cat would be chasing down and eating some young antelope.

As a social worker I work with clients with addiction problems and have noticed they display a similar trait as the cats. Once a person gets in recovery for just a short while they tend to be the least tolerant of the new people struggling to get into recovery. In the market of Home Business I have noticed a similar occurrence with the people that have struggled and found they way to having a profitable Home Business.

When I was hunting for a legitimate home business to start up, (which is no small task) I found what appeared to be a real business. The definition of a real business is a business that does not make any claim to be fool proof takes real effort, takes at least six months to start making any profit, and one that requires an investment of my own money.

Now when you read that definition you may feel confused, however if you stop and think about what has made anything you have ever done successful and real it would include all of the above criteria. Now back to eating our young, just how does this pertain to people in the home business? When I was starting out I knew very little about the business and nothing at all about how to be a successful marketer in the Internet business on a meager budget.

I thought if I want to know how to do these things then I need to ask the people that are already doing it and having some success. Seemed reasonable, however what I found was that most if not all of the people running a successful internet business from home where not only not open but more than glad to sell me all kinds of programs that were to be the root of all my success.

Sadly what I found was that these people were making money off of me and not wanting to help me what so ever. I felt very frustrated with not being able to find anyone that was willing to share with me or help me repeat what they had been able to do in their home business. Yes they were eating their young.

I finally happened across a group of people that thought like I did. This group believed to be successful them selves they had to pass along all they had been taught by others. This was it, I began to get real marketing ideas that cost very little and took a lot of work. I do not mind the work and the great thing is that with the help of successful work at home business owners I soon become successful in my home business.

Of course the only way I can continue my success is to pass on what I have been taught and as long as I do that I will be successful. My success is your success and when you learn the method you pass it on to others. It all seems so simple and the idea is simple the work is hard and it is not free so if you are looking for this type of success, a real home business drop in and let me tell you how I did it.

How Clear is Your Vision?

Posted in Work at Home at 12:00 pm by Work at Home Team

Wouldn’t it be nice to know that there is a way to get what you want? Whether it’s in business or your personal life, this article will clearly show you the steps you need to take to achieve your goals.

I heard it said once that vision without action is only a dream, but action without vision is a nightmare. In my first article, The Road To Success - A.C.T.I.O.N., I discussed action. So today, I’d like to discuss vision with you.

The first thing you need to do is to establish what your vision is. In order to accomplish goals, it is very important to be focused. To be focused, there must be something to be focused on.

The reality is the future is coming whether we’re ready for it or not, and those who don’t create the future they want will have to endure the future they get.

What does your future look like? Take some time and think about what you would like your future to look like. Write your ideas down. Once you have some ideas to work with you can begin developing a plan to create your future.

For example, let’s say you are currently employed outside of your home on a full time basis and your vision is to be able to work from home. Now that you have defined your vision it becomes much easier to develop a plan to achieve that vision.

Part of your plan should include research to find out if your vision is realistic or a pipe dream. So using our example of wanting to work from home, you would begin researching options that would provide you with an income from your home. The more research you do, the more focused your vision will become, and the more likely you are to succeed.

Depending on what your vision is, you may get overwhelmed by the size of the task ahead of you. Remember these sayings, the way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time and Rome wasn’t built in one day.

The next step is breaking the task down into manageable chunks that you can handle.

Completing this step is crucial. Many people give up at this step and get lost in what I call “action avoidance strategies”. What are action avoidance strategies? Here are a few of them:

• Analysis Paralysis
• Procrastination
• Denial
• Lack of Good Reasons to Complete the Task
• Fear of the Unknown

Now, once you are 70% of the way to being ready to begin, start moving forward. If you wait until everything is perfect to begin working towards your vision you will never start. The other 30% will unfold as you move forward and this allows you to select, reflect and correct your plan along the way.

Intentions + Action = Results

It’s imperative to move out of the planning stage and into the action stage if you want to create your future and accomplish your vision.

Get a big vision and then go after it!!

Finding Your Dream Work at Home Job

Posted in Work at Home at 12:00 pm by Work at Home Team

Do you enjoy your work? Do you look forward to getting up each morning and getting to work? Or do you dread Monday thru Friday and just pray to get through the week so that you can make it back home, away from your JOB. Unfortunately, that is the way it is for most people. Not many people actually enjoy their work. They do it as a means to survive, to get by.

The key to becoming successful and wealthy has to start with actually enjoying your work. Therefore it is very important you find a type of work that you enjoy, that you actually look forward doing each day, not just weekdays. The kind of work you always want to talk about with others and get excited thinking of new ideas for your job. That is the kind of passion you should feel towards your job.

Many people are in dead end jobs and are ok with it. They figure as long as it pays bills they are doing good. Those people have lost their desire to do better, to get ahead.
Ask yourself, what do you really enjoy doing? Something that you would even enjoying doing on a Friday night. We all know Friday nights are the get away from work night, the Tgif’s of the world. We all look forward to them. Just to get away from work, to go see a movie, to go out dancing, just go have some fun doing whatever your Friday Night Essence may be.

That same passion, that same essence is how you should feel about your work, what ever that maybe. That burning passion inside of you wanting to progress and do better in your job is what will bring success and wealth. But, it is sad that such a small percentage of people ever feel this way about their work/job. You are the only one that change that, you need to dig deep inside you and figure out what YOU want.

What do you enjoy doing? Some people enjoy cooking and make a wonderful career out of that. Some prefer sports and get wealthy doing exactly what they love to do. You see where I’m going? Love your work, and it will love you back.

So many people consume too much time living in the past. Those people often cripple their potential by living and thinking in terms of past experiences. They fail to grasp the bigger concepts and principles needed for a productive future. People that live in the past lose the ability to control their future. The future lies ahead, so stay focus on today and tomorrow and leave yesterday behind.

It’s time to move forward, stop wasting precious time and start finding that dream job. It could be anything, a Teacher, a Policeman, a Fireman or maybe you want to start your Own Home Business. Whatever your dream job may be, don’t be afraid to pursue it.
