Legitimizing your work at home business
So you have started your own home business. Financial freedom, no debt, vacations with family is all visions in your head as well they should be. Before we decide to book your flight to Hawaii, lets make sure you are here to stay. Legitimizing your home business basically means you are organized and have made commitments to a long prosperous business. Here are a few tips.
First, write down your goals. I know, how many times have you heard this? It is still a good road map for all of us to follow. I recommend 1-year goals and update each quarter. Be very specific. If you goal is to make $ 1000 a month from your business write that down and figure out what it will take to make that happen. This leads into the second point, which is, invest in your business.
Second, invest time and money in your business. I mention time and money because both are as valuable as the other. Spend time learning your business and how it works. Work with a mentor closely that is willing to show you the ropes. Your training should help you to figure out the steps needed to make money in this business and cut down on your learning curve.
Also, if you need to invest money, do so right away. Most businesses don’t make money in the first 2 years, but many home businesses do so your return will be very rapid. If you need things like a website or leads, don’t just wait until “the time is right” because the right time is now.
A network or internet marketing business will usually require a $ 1000 or less to start you off very quickly with the tools you need to succeed. The expenses also are very minimal compared to most other businesses i.e. franchises- $ 60,000-
$ 100,000, traditional business- $ 100,000- 1 million plus.
Third, start taking action. All the preparation and investment mean nothing if you don’t do the work. This should happen quickly also. Don’t wait 2-3 months before you start prospecting, promoting your business, or meeting with potential associates. Many people have their goals ready before they start a business and you can also work while you learn.
The main thing is action will create excitement and those interested in your opportunity will see that. You maintain that excitement by doing something everyday even if it is as simple as sending a quick email or making a quick phone call. Most of all action breeds more action, as people in your group will do what you do from example, not by what you say. So get started and legitimize your business.
